Natalia Kozieł-Kalliomäki

I am knee-deep, and hands-full in photo-sensitive film and expanded print-making adventure. I am Polish original, living, working, creating and having fun in Helsinki, heading for the moon!

The core of my expression became the fusion of film and print, often oscillating between different scales from large canvases to 16mm films, space projections and live-cinema performances.

I am exploring the substance of print by using analogue optical machinery and alchemy of film processes. I aim to uncover how traditional film projecting can be reinvented to puppeteer stories I want to tell. My works are often found on the borderland of print, film and theatre.

I'm on a quest to find magic in the simplest mechanisms I find in film, print and folding paper to bring a smile especially in the current times of what’s unsure.
